“IF YOU COME TO THE NÜRBURGRING AND WALK TO THE PADDOCK, YOU GO PAST A WALL WITH SOME OF THE GREAT NAMES IN MOTORSPORT, AND THAT’S THE MOMENT WHEN YOU REALIZE THAT YOU ARE ENTERING SACRED GROUND” – Jim Glickenhaus

Glickenhaus Trophy

GLICKENHAUS TROPHY

The Glickenhaus Trophy has been established in 2016 to honor the drivers who have set record on the Nordschleife, and will be awarded each year, after the Top 30 Qualifying for the 24 Hours of Nürburgrin, to the Team and Driver that set the fastest time around the Nordschleife portion of the circuit.

The Glickenhaus Trophy will be a permanent annual trophy. The winning Car and Team name, as well as lap time, will be engraved on the trophy each year. The Trophy will be loaned for display to the Team, who must return it two weeks before the next year’s Top 30 Qualifying session for the next winner.

The Glickenhaus Trophy is an impressive one-meter polished aluminum structure, with a carbon fiber base, emblazoned with the SCG logo. The sculpture was created by renowned designer Carsten Astheimer to Jim Glickenhaus’s personal specification, in the shape of the epic Nordshleife layout.
